The research group builds a place of study, applied research, dissemination and training on the topic of the intersection between the methodologies of investigation derived from Future Sciences and the processes and effects that characterise contemporary Design Cultures. Starting from the cultures of design, the centre aims to become the nucleus of an interdepartmental and multidisciplinary network to promote the development of virtuous relations between systems of knowledge and skills (historical, anthropological, economic, sociological, psychological, engineering, technological, pedagogical, health, etc.). Also important are editorial and publishing works on the subject of service innovation and processes of participatory planning and co-design that the group has developed in recent years. The group is also active in organising an annual series of seminars with international guests (THOUGHT AND DESIGN. The great contemporaries and the things of design), participation in scientific and steering committees of international design conferences and in initiatives promoted by the university on cultural and creative industries in Emilia Romagna, Social Innovation and Smart Cities and Communities.
