ValEst Lab — Valuation and Appraisal for the Built Environment focuses on valuation and appraisal methods for the built environment, with specific attention to real estate markets, housing affordability, project economic feasibility and investment decisions.
The research group works on the integration of appraisal approaches, multicriteria analysis, strategic assessment and spatial models to support decision-making processes. From this perspective, valuation is understood as a tool to interpret transformation conditions in built contexts, assess project impacts and guide more informed public and private choices.
Research activities also address environmental assessment, project sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources, with attention to the relationship between complexity, value uncertainty and potential project impacts.
