The CHANGES project, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aims to establish an international hub of excellence for training, research, and technology transfer in the field of culture and cultural heritage. The objective is to enhance our country's cultural heritage by promoting innovative, sustainable approaches to its protection and public enjoyment, establishing enduring partnerships between research and business, and generating employment opportunities within the sector.
Through structural interventions, CHANGES aspires to increase the number of researchers and graduates in cultural disciplines, while strengthening research laboratories and technology transfer between universities and enterprises. Furthermore, the project aims to revitalize the economy and local development of Central and Southern Italy within the cultural sector following the pandemic crisis.
CHANGES aligns with the priorities of the National Research Programme 2021-2027, fostering interdisciplinary research and the enhancement of cultural heritage through the use of digital technologies. Utilizing innovative approaches, CHANGES seeks to protect, conserve, and add value to cultural heritage, thereby reducing socio-economic inequalities.
Through the strategic application of digital technologies, CHANGES aims to make cultural heritage accessible to a broader audience, promoting the use of advanced digital imaging techniques and developing innovative IT tools for the conservation and analysis of cultural assets. In addition, the project intends to promote new forms of sustainable tourism rooted in the respect and enhancement of cultural heritage, actively involving local communities and institutions.
