GEODESIGN: PLANNING FOR THE SDGS AND CLIMATE EMERGENCIES

PhD Seminar

  • Data: dal 06 novembre 2023 al 09 novembre 2023

  • Luogo: Bologna, Department of Architecture, Viale Risorgimento 2

  • Modalità d'accesso: Ingresso libero fino ad esaurimento dei posti disponibili

The seminar is held by Prof. Ana Clara Mourão Moura, full professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Department of Urban Planning, and coordinator of the Geoprocessing Laboratory in the same institution.

The aim of the seminar is to show geodesign as a method for co-creation in planning, presenting the state-of-the-art in methods and frameworks, and the state-of-the-design in a workshop practice.

The seminar is divided into 4 days of 3 hours each for a total of 12 hours. It includes lectures and a workshop to be carried out in groups of 2-3 people using the platform GISColab.

Prof. Ana Clara Mourão Mour will conduct the seminar remotely and students will participate in hybrid format. On days 1 and 4 the meeting will be totally online and the students can join remotely in their places, while on days 2 and 3 students are organized in groups, working in cocreation. To attend the workshop, each student needs a personal computer with internet access, as the GISColab platform is a web-based tool.

The professor will do the presentations in English, but the students can speak and ask questions in Italian, as she is able to communicate in both languages.

The case study selected to the experiment will be from Emilia-Romagna, the city of Faenza, facing the challenges of planning for climate actions and sustainability.

The seminar is curated by Angela Santangelo and Elisa Conticelli.
