Many European cities are currently engaged in facing the challenge of adapting the urban environment to climate change. To accomplish this mission existing buildings must be widely renovated, and new ones should be designed according to sustainable criteria. This lecture explores some examples from Spain in both renovation and new constructions embedding criteria aimed at helping cities adapt to climate change.
Marta Monzón is an architect, building engineer, and PhD in energy efficiency. She is an assistant professor in the area of architectural technology at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Her research career focuses on energy rehabilitation and sustainable and healthy cities.
