Programme: Regione Emilia-Romagna POR-FESR 2014-2020
Call: POR FESR 2014 2020
The enhancement of cultural heritage lacks ICT platforms for the complete lifecycle management of data for tangible BBCC (Cultural Heritage and Cultural Goods) and for the integration of heterogeneous and fragmented databases from different public and private cultural operators. SACHER aims to fill this gap by working synergistically at two levels: technological, primarily, and secondly, business model.
At the technological level, SACHER will provide a platform for the lifecycle management of BBCC data based on a fully distributed and open-source Cloud Computing environment, capable of integrating various hardware and software infrastructures, as well as existing data from private and public entities. It will also use the Active Digital Identity paradigm to make all resources unique and interoperable for cultural operators and service users. The SACHER platform will promote rapid, secure, and scalable access to and sharing of BBCC between different communities composed of private and public entities and citizens, as well as enable easier collaboration. The SACHER platform will also offer application services to ensure access, targeted analysis, and advanced presentation of BBCC data, customized for different end-user categories and specific objectives (management, historical, etc.).
At the business model level, SACHER will define new models based on participatory design for BBCC data, with a focus on social entrepreneurship. The validation of the SACHER platform will take place in collaboration with the Municipality of Bologna, focusing on tangible BBCC within the area of Palazzo del Podestà. The ultimate goal of SACHER is not only to create a demonstrator that can be quickly transferred to the market and reused in various contexts of art cities, but also to generate an ecosystem of services and actors capable of creating new value chains in the areas of cultural service production and collaborative consumption.
