EUROPEAN CITY ARCHITECTURE LAB

Starting from the concepts of "urban design" and "urban regeneration", this Research Group seeks to understand the European city as a cultural heritage to be regenerated from the point of view of what it means and represents, attributing the study of the city to the form of the city, to the concreteness of the "urban facts" that constitute it and seeing topography and cartography as the instruments of knowledge of its typological and morphological characteristics.

The cultural pursuit of the research, therefore, concerns the study and prefiguration of urban places, the quality of open space, the idea of living in the contemporary city, the identity and complexity of the relationships between monumental places and the natural landscape, as well as the connection between the consolidated city and the old and new suburbs.
