The Laboratory involves the collection of building materials and components to support teaching and research; the collection of documentation on international research; the development of innovative research in the field of architectural technology, and with a transdisciplinary approach; the transfer of experience and knowledge in the field of architectural technology to the operational level. The laboratory also provides support for the research activities of the PhD programme in Architecture and Design Cultures.

Material library with a large collection of samples of building systems, materials, mock-ups, indoor parameter monitoring probes and data collection unit, hardware and simulation software (ENVI-met, ...).

study and research on: traditional and innovative building materials, components and technologies; environmental sustainability and climate change; monitoring and intervention technologies on cultural heritage; rehabilitation of existing building heritage; energy efficient buildings; PED; fuel poverty; selective demolition, material recovery; valorisation of cultural heritage; resilient cities and capacity for urban transformation.
