The project is based on the development of an interoperable platform capable of acquiring, storing, and effectively managing data related to the structure, operation, and consumption of buildings and networks, and capable of cooperating with other urban information systems through appropriate adapters. The platform is central to both intervention strategies and the modeling of technological solutions aimed at energy efficiency, environmental sustainability throughout the lifecycle, and the improvement of the qualitative and functional characteristics of the buildings involved. The main activities carried out by the Research Unit of the DA include:
- Defining a multi-criteria matrix of technical design requirements for high-performance multifunctional building envelopes; characterizing and verifying reference stratigraphies; modeling the identified configurations and related analysis;
- Defining a repertoire of technological solutions for high-efficiency building envelopes with environmental sustainability, aimed at the refurbishment of existing heritage and new construction;
- Preparing a "Technological Kit" consisting of envelope configurations analyzed and verified in specific reference contexts, describing the typical environmental conditions of the planned application and experimentation areas;
- Defining a roadmap for the evolution trends of building systems technologies to be integrated into the building system for regulating, controlling, and monitoring operational conditions;
- Defining a detailed framework for the integration possibilities of energy functions in ceramic components intended for use as envelope cladding;
- Writing guidelines to formulate the environmental profile certifications of the building and system components developed within the project;
- Supporting the experimental phase in collaboration with industrial partners.
